Interested in getting emails when a new announcement is added?  Click on the gold bell in the right hand corner below the announcements. A pop up window will open that looks like the image to the right.  Click on Daily Announcements in the window and select NEXT.

This will bring up another pop up (below) asking you to enter your name and email address.  Do not click the I am not a human box.   Select the Sign Up button.  You will receive a notification that you will be getting an email notification to verify your interest in receiving emails of the contents of the Daily Announcements.  Respond to the email to start getting daily copies of the Student Announcements.

Yearbook Delivery May 2022. Last year’s book was delivered during the fall of 2021, but that was an exception. This year, we’re back to our normal delivery date, just before seniors graduate.

Want to celebrate your senior? An ad in the yearbook makes a great gift. Sizes range from 1/9 of a page up to a full page. The ad form at http://bit.ly/wahsyearbook offers details about how to order.

Submitting Pictures to the Yearbook

This year more than most, we could use all the help we can get trying to cover what it was really like to be a student. We will eagerly accept any pictures you might like to place in the yearbook. Document your time with your travel team. Hiking or picnicking with friends? Snap a pic and send it to us.

Families of seniors, please note that this appointment is for the regular school picture that generates an ID card, not for the senior portrait that goes in the yearbook. Seniors and senior families received a separate email for that signup.

Seniors and Juniors: We are reassessing available parking to determine how many spaces are available to give to other students.  if you have not picked up your actual parking sticker (not the paper pass) from Mrs. Senn please do so by tomorrow.

Seniors, if you are planning to apply to college, please remember to bring your signed and completed yellow sheet to your counselor ASAP. We cannot send your transcript or any materials to colleges without that form. Extra forms are available in the counseling office if you need a new one.

Would you like to make some money before the holidays? Albemarle County Schools will host a virtual job fair on the afternoon of November 10th (the next half-day). Students should register at tinyurl.com/jobfairACPS to get the schedule and the zoom links. See Ms. Bertrand in the library with questions.

There will be a girls' soccer meeting on Thursday, 11/4/21 in room D104, during both lunch periods for all ladies interested in trying out for either JV or Varsity soccer in the spring. Interested athletes should only come during their lunch period, either 1st or 2nd lunch do not attend both.

Tryout week for the WAHS swim team is next week. You must have a physical on file to participate. Check out the team website for more info.

The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Jefferson Forest in straight sets yesterday in the first round of Regional play.  The team will host Halifax on Thursday at 6pm.    

The Boys Cross Country team captured the Region 4D Championship at Panorama Farms yesterday.  Owen Shifflett was the top WAHS runner, placing 4th.

Sadie Adams took the Girls Cross Country Region 4D individual title yesterday, with the team placing 3rd.

The WAHS Drama Department will be performing “Peter and the Star Catcher” on Nov. 18, 19th and 20th. The play is a prequel to Peter Pan, with pirates, sword fighting, and magic! Tickets are available on the school website.
