Interested in getting emails when a new announcement is added? Click on the gold bell in the right hand corner below the announcements. A pop up window will open that looks like the image to the right. Click on Daily Announcements in the window and select NEXT.
This will bring up another pop up (below) asking you to enter your name and email address. Do not click the I am not a human box. Select the Sign Up button. You will receive a notification that you will be getting an email notification to verify your interest in receiving emails of the contents of the Daily Announcements. Respond to the email to start getting daily copies of the Student Announcements.

The 2022 Western Albemarle High School yearbook has almost arrived.
We plan to start distributing books next week, May 2-6, during lunch.

- Pay at school with cash or check (made payable to "WAHS"). Get an order form on our website or in the Main Office.
We will be selling books in the cafeteria during lunch all next week. We cannot reserve books. They will be sold first come, first served.
We also still have older editions from 2021, 2020, and 2019 for sale. During the next three weeks, those previous editions are being offered at a discounted price of $45.
Please remind your students: our next Job Fair is online, this Friday, from 2-4pm. There are 24 job, volunteer, and internship opportunities.
Students may register at tinyurl.com/ACPSjobfair to be sent the zoom links. The list of participating employers is here.
Students should also check the jobs listing linked here and on the WAHS website, Students tab, Jobs for Students. This list will stay updated after the job fair.

Yearbooks are on sale and are set to arrive in early may! Make sure to order your yearbooks online now at https://www.balfour.com/virginia/crozet/western-albemarle-high-school (searching under Western Albemarle High School). The theme this year is On the Horizon, and the book includes gorgeous mountain landscapes as well as pictures of all of you. Be sure to order before it’s too late.
Students who are taking AP Exams are reminded that the remaining balance of your AP Testing Fee is due Friday, April 22. If you are unsure of whether you owe a balance or not, please see Mrs. Wright in the counseling office to check.
Seniors planning to attend PVCC next year: Admissions Reps from PVCC will be at WAHS this Friday from 11:00 – 1:00 to help seniors prepare their courses for next year. If you are interested, you must see your counselor to complete a form that will prepare you for that meeting. Please see your counselor ASAP if you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity or to find out more information.
The boys basketball team defeated Jefferson Forest 68 - 48 Friday night to advance to the region 4D semifinal Tuesday night at 7 PM. The Warriors will host George Washington - Danville. Student tickets will cost $5 and be available all day Tuesday including during lunches.
The boys and girls indoor track teams won Region 4D championships on Saturday. For the boys, Sixteen team members scored. Three were region champions…Henry Sullivan in the 55 Meter Hurdles, Owen Shifflett in the 3200 Meter Run and Jack Intihar in the 300 Meter Dash. Both teams will compete at the state meet beginning February 28.
Congratulations to Joey Burch who finished second in the 170 pound weight class at the state wrestling tournament this weekend.
The Western Swim and Dive teams competed in the Class 4A State Swim and Dive Championship Meet on Thursday and Friday. For the 5th STRAIGHT YEAR the Western Boy’s Swim & Dive team came home VICTORIOUS and the Western Girls’ team finished 4th for the 2nd straight year. THIS WAS THE BOYS 6th STATE TITLE IN 7 YEARS AND THE GIRL’S 14th CONSECUTIVE TOP-4 FINISH AT THE STATE MEET.
Senior Matthew Heilman won the 200 Individual Medley and set the new team record in the event
Senior Sam Johnson won the 100 Freestyle
Junior Julie Addison finished 2nd in the 200 Individual Medley & 100 Backstroke
Junior Emily Mandell finished 2nd in Diving
Freshman Thomas Heilman won the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly and broke the team record and Class 4A state records.
The boys 200 Medley Relay of Thomas Heilman, Jack Smith, Jackson Schundler, and Sam Johnson set the new team record and Class 4A State Record
The boys 200 Free Relay of Matthew Heilman, Richard Wang, Anthony Garono, and Thomas Heilman set the Class 4A state record.
The boys 400 Freestyle Relay of Sam Johnson, Jackson Schundler, Noah Johnson, and Matthew Heilman finished 2nd
The Girls 400 Freestyle Relay of Grace McCardle, Elke Beaumont, Annabeth Stancil, and Julie Addison also finished 2nd.
